I am selling a set of 10 (+) teacups & saucers with the dessert/bread and butter plate "trios" of this unique New Chelsea fine bone porcelain made in England. As you can see in the photos, they are absolutely beautiful, using very original and striking colors, and they show a quality that is incredible. They have been decorated with colorful on-glaze hand painted enamel and have a gold trim in all the plates and teacups.
According to my research for this set, the mark with the anchor and the name New Chelsea was used from between 1912 and 1951, since that year was when the Company changed the mark name from New to Royal Chelsea, though for a while both names were used (between 1943 and 1961). They come from their factory in Longton, Strattfordshire in England. These are vintage, but I would say they would be closer to the time frame between 1940's and late 1950's, they would be more an "Art Deco" style.
The approximate measurements are:
Teacups, rim diameter is 3.5 inches, with the handle 4.5 inches, height 3 inches.
Saucers are 5 3/4 inches in diameter.
Dessert/bread & butter plates diameter is 7 inches.
.
Besides the 10 trios and I also have a (sugar?) bowl and two serving plates that you can see in the photos. (I do have an extra trio, #11, of which the cup has a few stains inside it, it is not pristine like the other 10, so even though I have the saucer and dessert plate in perfect condition I am not listing it here, but if you are interested in that one too, please let me know!).
If you would like to know about buying several trios or the whole set, contact me beforehand and you can bundle for a cheaper shipping and a discount for quantity too. Please see the photos carefully and if you have any questions or need more details or photos I will be happy to provide them. Thanks for shopping!!!
